Gastrointestinal Hemostasis Exhibit Model

“The KOL who was speaking at the conference actually took the gastrointestinal exhibit model out of our booth and used it during his presentation. He said it was the best model he had ever seen to show this procedure.”

The Challenge:

What started as a simple request for a stand to display a medical device at trade shows, quickly evolved into creating a gastrointestinal exhibit model that provides a hands-on experience for surgeons. The Hemospray team at Cook Medical described the benefits of Hemospray to Pulse MDM during an initial conversation. Their goal was to familiarize clinicians with their device and demonstrate how it was used during treatment. After hearing their goals for trade-show demonstrations, Allison Rae (Pulse MDM Founder & CCO) said; “Let’s give physicians a way to try it right there at your booth!”

Model Design & Development:

Our new focus was now had three requirements:

  • To ensure that the exhibit could draw attention to their exhibit booth,
  • To represent the gastrointestinal tract without taking up too much space,
  • To provide a way for conference attendees – the surgeons – to actually deploy the Hemospray device and see how it works.

And as always, make a representation that reflects the brand, that is easy to set up &use, and is durable enough for travel. The Pulse MDM team designed a model that is completely clear to provide much-needed contextual anatomy without distracting attention from the main focus, which is the deployment of the Hemospray hemostatic powder. Small clear targets shaped like pods were designed to be located at strategic bleeding locations so the surgeon can see the blast of therapeutic powder delivered to make a lasting visual impression.

A few prototypes later the Cook Medical team tested their new gastrointestinal exhibit model at a conference.

Model Benefit:

The Cook Medical Hemospray Model satisfies all of Cook’s criteria, it is eye-catching, provides a hands-on surgeon experience, and draws attention to their tradeshow booth.

  • The exhibit model can be seen from both sides, disassembles to easily fit in a durable transport case.
  • Cook Medical team members quickly and easily refresh and replace the “gastrointestinal” treatment targets.
  • Every surgeon can perform the procedure and see their results.

Once we understood the story Cook Medical wanted to tell and how they differentiate their product, it opened up a whole world of possibilities to help their device stand out at every trade show. You can challenge us with your; “How can we demonstrate this device?” opportunity. We love creating unforgettable hands-on experiences for surgeons.
